Gene Salvatore -
CEO
Gene
Salvatore got bit by the Internet
and Web Hosting bug early on.
Somewhere in the 1990's during those
early days of dial up modems,
bulletin boards, Compuserve and
America Online, Gene saw opportunity
and the future.
Gene has been active in the
internet and web hosting industries
since 1995 when he
decided to start focusing his
energies on bringing RI businesses, primarily
affiliated with the Real Estate Market,
online. It was then that Gene, along
with his wife Maureen, started
one of RI's first web design
firms, Online Imaging.
In 1996, in association with
the RI State Multiple Listing
Service [RI MLS], Online Imaging developed
and programmed
one of the first
comprehensive, database driven Real Estate Web Sites
in the country. Publicly launched in
1997 with a database of
searchable listings, photos,
comprehensive up to date information,
directories of associated
businesses, services
and so much more, RI Living [http://www.riliving.com]
became an instant success ... as
well as a model for real estate web
sites to follow in its path.
For the next 4 years
Online Imaging worked closely with
the RI MLS and its members agencies.
Throughout this time, Online Imaging was responsible for
the development and web presence of many of RI's
popular and
premier Real Estate web sites and
destinations.
In 1999, after splitting his time
between the growing web operations
and nearly 15 years in the
automotive and custom aftermarket
business in New England, Gene made a
decision to exit the Retail Mobile
Electronics Industry and joined the management
team at Adgrafix Corporation in
Sudbury, Massachusetts. As
Vice President, Gene played a vital role
in the companies growth over the
next three years, as well as the
companies $20 Million Dollar sale to
Allegiance Telecom in March 2001.
After
working for a brief period of time
for Allegiance Telecom under the
Hosting.com banner, Gene partnered with Robert
Bennett serving as Vice-President
and Managing Partner of Archieboy
Holdings. A holding company for more
than 30 distinct, market driven web
hosting companies, Gene managed the
day to day planning, implementation
and running of the Administrative
and Datacenter Operations.
Many of the brands Gene
co-founded and launched while
Vice-President now reside in
GreenTree Hosting's Portfolio of
companies. After Archieboy's
acquisition of Boston
Datacenters in November 2004,
Gene joined the Boston Datacenters, Inc.
team as Vice President of Operations
and minority owner.
Following the $2.8 Million Dollar
sale of Boston Datacenters in
November of 2006, Gene and his wife
Maureen left the corporate world.
Putting their focus and energies
completely back into Online Imaging,
the company was rebranded and renamed to GreenTree
Hosting, LLC.
As CEO Gene brings more than 20
years of Business to Business,
Business to Consumer, Retail, IT,
Internet and Management experience
to GreenTree Hosting. Still able to
push a broom, "light up" a server or
close and integrate an acquisition,
Gene enjoys the challenges of
operating fast paced businesses.
An avid
NASCAR Fan, Gene lives in Southbury
CT with his wife and children. He enjoys the outdoors,
roller coasters, movies, is a
self-prescribed "computer geek"
and knows way too much about NASCAR.
When he is not behind a computer
screen or cheering on his favorite
driver, Gene can usually be found
working out in the yard or riding
the John Deere.
